Meet the choir : Alan Evans

Alan Evans brings heart, humour and real passion to BMVC — and his performance of O Love at the Royal Albert Hall in 2026 is one of those moments that will stay with the choir forever. His voice, his commitment, and his love of singing shine through every rehearsal.

Alan says BMVC has given him friendships, confidence, and experiences he never imagined — and he’d encourage anyone to give it a try.

Meet the Choir: Our Musical Director, Andrew Protherough‑Jones

Andrew Protherough‑Jones shares why Bydd Myrdd o Ryfeddodau is one of his favourite pieces — a hymn with a powerful story that travelled from Wales to Patagonia and became a symbol of resilience, memory and community. Every time BMVC sings it, Andrew says the room changes: the emotion, the unity, the pride. For Andrew, BMVC isn’t just a choir. It’s a team, a family, a place where anyone can grow in confidence and enjoy the magic of singing together.
